Does it actually run small?

Yes, size up one from your usual size. If you normally wear a medium, order a large. The fabric has good stretch but the cut is fitted and the ribbing is snug across the chest. If you're between sizes, go up. Most people who complain about the fit ordered their usual size rather than sizing up.

Can you see the bra cups through the fabric?

In lighter colors you can see a faint outline of the cup edge, the same as you would with any built-in bra tank. Dark colors are completely clean. If you're wearing white or pale yellow, that's worth knowing ahead of time. The fabric itself is not see-through.

Will it work if I'm a larger cup size?

Do the pads come out for washing?
